The Dorset features Shimano's 9-speed Sora groupset, with a wide-ratio cassette to make getting up the hills a breeze. On the descents, reliable TRP Flat Mount disc brakes will slow you down safely and easily.
 
Whether you're commuting longer distances, winter training or entering summer sportifs, the Whyte Road Disc range offers Cyclo Cross durability with pure Road geometry.
 
A strong alloy 6061 frame, with mudguard and rack eyelets, combined with wide section Offset Rimmed RD-7 rims and TRP Hydro/Mechanical disc brakes will give years of reliable all-season performance.

Professional Opinion

Whyte Dorset 2019 - This is truly a performance road bike with disc brakes rather than a re-engineered hybrid or cyclocross bike. If you want a bike for getting from A to B quickly all year round, and that can cope with whatever the British roads and weather can throw at it this could be for you. We were very impressed when we reviewed the 2014 version. At its heart is a well designed, well put together aluminium frame with lots of nicely detailed touches. You can easily fit mudguards (always a plus) and the ride and handling is right up there with the best of the new breed of aluminium road bikes. There are 28mm Maxxis Rouleur tyres and the Shimano Sora groupset with TRP Hy/Rd mechanical disc brakes. - Road.cc 15 Best Bikes Under £1000 - 27th December 2018
